As DAC's founder, Dan splits his time between business development, client management, production, and operations. Within production, he focuses on pre-design and schematic design, supports the production team through later phases, and then re-engages on permitting and entitlements. Zoning and building code are his specialties, along with finding alternative solutions for complex projects with small sites or limited space.

Dan has 22 years in the industry, with his deepest experience in multifamily, education, office, tenant improvement, and community centers. He has repeat experience working in Columbus, Upper Arlington, Westerville, Delaware County, Dayton, Montgomery County, and Hamilton County. At DAC, he led the development and implementation of a forward-thinking education model at Community STE[A]M Academy and has guided the firm's recent multifamily design work on The Flats on Broad & Gould and Lofts 82. On Lofts 82, he has been involved from the earliest stages through design, working to bring the owner's family history into the concept.

Dan's fascination with problem solving started early and pushed his interests toward engineering, finance, and economics before he landed on architecture. What held him there was watching a vision move from your head to paper to something built. He calls it a beautiful process and one that demands absolute focus. He believes the client relationship is as important to this industry as the work itself, something you earn, maintain, and reaffirm by understanding what a client has at risk. Outside of work, he coaches his kids in softball and football and is active in the Grandview community.
