Parker House
Opportunity
The owners set out to transform this three-bedroom 1970s home into a one-of-a-kind five-bedroom short-term rental that balanced modern amenities with the timeless appeal of mid-century architecture. Living abroad throughout the project, they also needed a trusted local architecture and design partner to oversee day-to-day decisions, coordinate construction, and ensure the project remained true to their vision. Beyond the renovation itself, the surrounding property offered opportunities for long-term residential and short-term rental development.
Approach
As the client's on-the-ground representative, DAC coordinated closely with the general contractor, managed material and fixture procurement, and resolved site access challenges that could have hindered construction and ease for future renters. Our team designed the home's expansion from three to five bedrooms while thoughtfully modernizing the interior and preserving mid-century details. We also evaluated the broader property and developed a master planning strategy to support future residential and short-term rental opportunities, ensuring today's investment could continue delivering value for years to come.
Impact
The result is a modernized five-bedroom retreat that celebrates its original mid-century character while offering comfort and functionality for short-term rental guests. By combining thoughtful renovation, concierge project management, and long-range site planning, DAC helped transform the property into a distinctive destination with the flexibility to support future possibilities.
